Paris - Mon Premier Amour

Paris reminded me of my first love. You know, the one which started out bright-eyed with all the wild promises of the world (macarons, art, fashion!) but eventually worn thin by the undercurrent of reality.

...the tall Effiel standing proud and the street side beggars bowing low.
...the cozy scent of freshly baked croissants and the urinal stench of canals.
...the sweetness of Pierre Herme macarons and the cold tang of  liverPâtĂ©.
...the sanctity of of Sacre Coeur and the hedonism of Moulin Rougue.

Paris is a city that could easily send any girl’s world twirling with the wildest possibilities- fashion mecca, gourmet paradise and lovers’ rendezvous. It is hard not to fall in love with this whimsical city. Alas, she is an expensive one to maintain.

Eiffel Tower - Champ de Mars, 5 Avenue Anatole France, 75007
(THE symbol of romance and place to stalk spot newlyweds.)

1) Narcissism

 2) Sweet Love
3) Spontaneity

5) Hallyu love

6) Paris, Je ta’ime

                                           Metro
For W, who never fails to gently remind me that the journey is as important as the destination.

The Paris metro is indeed an experience-
a) It has been around since 1900s with ghost stations closed when France entered WW.
b) Baskers get on trains and perform.
c) Conductors go on strikes.
d) Lots of PDA action.

Roof somewhere near Opera National de Paris
 An angel watching over you

 Overcast
Time to brave the empty streets

Arc de Triomphe - Place Charles de Gaulle,75008 Paris

Witness superb French driving skills here.

      Banks of River Seine

To return & take the same stroll with W in our 60s.
Hopefully the pee smell is gone by then!

 Jack & Jill (aaww)

 Sunday? Ooi!

Berthillon - 31 Rue St.-Louis-en-l'IleParis

Money can buy you happiness Berthillon ice cream!

Jardine des Tuileries - Place de la Concorde, 75001 Paris
(Known for flowers. Unknown for assortment of amorous statues.)

Great place for chilling. Grab some pastries and come here for picnic and people watching.

Never too young to appreciate beauty.

What the fish. It’s a fish eat fish world.

Kawaii  Graffiti.

Love triangle.

Champs Elysees

Superstar friend wanted to show us around town.
For security reasons, police escorts were hired.

Champs Elysees cordoned off Before Sunset for shopping.

Retired to The Secret Garden for tea.

Woke up and it was all an American Dream.

Jardin du Luxembourg - Rue Guynemer75006 ParisFrance

I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart on my shoulders)

Whoosh!

Reminds me of Mary Poppins In the Park

I wish I was a duck idling away. Quack, quack.

I take it back, it is a dangerous world for ducks.

Youth, Shines.

Montparnasse
Best place in Paris

ML taught me my first french phrase-
Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir.

My French teacher taught us this song - Je Veux by Zaz.
Ahhh Parisians, why you so romantic.

Ride up to Sacre Coeur.

Sacre Coeur - 35, rue de Chevalier-de-la-Barre | Montmartre75018 Paris

Sure, this aint the prettiest church in Europe but it is set above the city lights and everyone knows im a sucker for lights. Throw in scruffy artists strumming guitars, couples sitting laughing on big steps, and when the sun sets and the sky peels orange, this place this moment just stole my breathe away.

Theatre du Chatlet -2 Rue Edouard Colonne, 75001 Paris

Sound of Music. Was hoping the Captain will sing in French but nope Sire, it was in English.

   Midnight at Paris
Ending off with a roar.

Au revoir!
