London Calling

England-a sprinkle of magic (from Roald Dahl’s The Witches to JK Rowling’s Harry Potter), a dash of history and a light dust of schoolgirl’s fantasy (Mr Darcy). W & I crossed the English Channel to celebrate our Christmas and New Year at London and what a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious time we had!

West End

W & I adore musicals!Phantom is a must watch for the sappy romance and lovely voices. Mamma Mia’s catchy ABBA beats got me grooving in my seats.Alas, Wicked was pretty forgettable.

Tate Modern Art Museum-BanksideLondon SE1 9TG

Some of my favorites:

Make love not war.

Porcelain bits carved to resemble Sunflower seeds by Ai WeiWei
(a commentary on counterfeits?)

Morbidly chirpy.

Duty heavier than a mountain.

A diamond? A star? A diamond star!

Madam Tussuads

Absolute waste of  time and $. Thought it will be nice to check out a wax museum (nv been to one before) for my 23rd birthday. Bad idea.

Mondays with Einstein. Tuesdays with Daniel. Wednesdays with William.

Thursdays with Sugar Daddy.Fridays with Sherlock. Saturdays with Shrek.

New Year Eve Parade

Parades are meant to be watched from home with a pack of chips. Unless your height is >190cm.  Or you are born with see through human vision.

Once upon a time, a hungry vulture chanced upon a beautiful princess. Being hungry, the vulture wanted to gobble up the princess. Upon knowing this, the Trojan horse charged to the princess’s defense. Alas, he arrived late and the princess had blasted the bird to smithereens.

The princess collected the feathers and used it to sew haute couture for her majesty’s courts. Everyone lived happily ever after.

Rain on my parade.

Bond Street/Oxford Street/Bicester Village

She came. She Saw. She bought.

Marks & Spencer furry leather gloves, Polo Ralph Lauren Cardigan, French Connection-mandarin buttons-sharp-shoulders dress, Marks & Spencer colorful umbrella. Consumerism.

French connection’s collection for that season was super adorable.

Beautiful bridge

O Christmas Tree

London welcomes the Olympics
Camden Lock/Borough Market

Horse goes neighhhh.

The best thing here was the food.  Was looking forward to vintage finds but the selection was pretty trashy.

Decent curry! Slurps.

Flexible

Bought 2 corsets here (despite W’s vehement protest that I cant pull off rocker chic)

Portobello
My favorite.

Hummingbird bakery + loads of quaint shops around.

Some houses more equal than others.

Busking

Street performer squeezing through a tennis racket.

Protest

Grey.

Pub

London Tube

Neverwhere.
